Tragic accident in Nymburk. A car drove into a group of people.
© AKTU.cz, Jiří Forman During a severe fatal accident in Nymburk, which occurred on Thursday afternoon near Kolaja in Nymburk, two rescue helicopters were landing. The toll from a car crashing into a group of people, who likely experienced a tire blowout, is tragic. Two people died at the scene.
According to the police spokesperson for the Central Bohemian Region, Pavel Truxa, an accident occurred in the municipality of Kolaje near Nymburk about ten minutes past 4 p.m. "Another vehicle struck people standing by the parked car," he explained. "The road I/11 is currently closed," he added.
The accident was not without casualties. Central Bohemian rescue spokesperson Marek Hylebrant confirmed that two people lost their lives in the incident and two others were injured.
The area is being bypassed via the nearby villages. Police investigating this tragic accident will remain at the scene until late at night.
