A gang stopped a driver in Smíchov, and then one of them beat him up.
© AKTU.cz A baffling incident occurred tonight in Prague's Smíchov. A group of youths stopped a driver who was passing by, and one of them pulled him out of his car and started beating him while the others simply watched. When people at Anděl began shouting at the youths, they stopped.
Right at the intersection of Nádražní and Na Bělidle streets, a group of Czech bystanders had their eyes on the driver. According to them, they "almost ran him over." The dispute escalated when they pulled the driver out of his car, leading to a street brawl.
When passersby joined in and began shouting at the group to leave the driver alone, the fight stopped.
The driver then got back into his car and tried to leave, but one of the aggressors kicked his car forcefully twice in the meantime.
The youngsters then made their way a short distance down Na Bělidle street and later into Albert in the shopping arcade, where a patrol eventually caught them.
The footage shows blows to the head and the driver being pulled from his car – the incident could potentially be charged as attempted aggravated assault and public disorder, and if the driver’s car was damaged, vandalism as well. However, it ultimately depends on the investigator.
